MEET ZEESHAN KHAWAR
Zeeshan has helped businesses in UK, UAE, Sri Lanka and Pakistan to achieve their short, medium and long term objectives. Zeeshan started his career in the external audit arm of KPMG Pakistan. His progressive career with KPMG Pakistan included external audits of Banks, NBFCs, Oil Refining businesses, Manufacturing concerns, Power Generation & Distribution, Non-Profit Organizations, to name a few. He has also been assigned to the audit function of KPMG UK and UAE, heading audit assignments of large financial institutions and Government organizations.
Following his long association with KPMG, he was associated with the State Audit Institution of the Federal Government of UAE, where his role included Risk Assessment, Audit of Public Funds and advising Government entities including Ministries on Governance, Controls and financial mechanisms. The highlight of his career with SAI UAE was working with the Ministry of Finance on VAT structure in UAE.
Subsequently, Zeeshan has worked in one of the largest conglomerates in UAE as its Head of Internal Audit. The role was responsible for auditing a vast and diverse audit universe including Food Processing, Construction, Oil Refining and Trading, Construction, M&As, Exchange Houses etc. He has successfully headed the project of Audit Automation during his tenure. He has later headed the finance function of the organization as its CFO in Sri Lanka.
Zeeshan has recently headed the finance function of a listed NBFC in Pakistan as its CFO and has contributed towards turning around the company’s profitability in a short span.
Zeeshan is currently associated with ESMC Global UAE and Junaidy Shoaib Asad Chartered Accountants Pakistan, a member firm of Morison Global, in the capacity of Partner Audit and Assurance. His main areas of focus includes Audit, Assurance and Tax Advisory.
Zeeshan is Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, a Certified Internal Auditor from Institute of Internal Auditors USA, Certified Internal Controls Auditor from USA and Certified Capital Market Expert from Pakistan and a Commerce Graduate.
