A Tax Accountant in the UAE is responsible for managing tax-related financial matters, ensuring compliance with UAE VAT laws and the newly introduced Corporate Tax regulations. They assist businesses in optimizing tax strategies, preparing tax returns, and handling financial audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file VAT returns as per UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations
- Ensure compliance with UAE Corporate Tax laws
- Maintain accurate tax records and financial statements
- Conduct tax audits and reconcile tax liabilities
- Advise on tax-saving strategies and risk mitigation
- Liaise with the FTA and external auditors for tax matters
- Stay updated on changes in UAE tax regulations
- Use accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or Zoho Books
Qualifications & Skills:
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Certified Tax Agent (FTA Registered) or ACCA, CPA, CMA (preferred)
Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws, Corporate Tax, and IFRS
Experience with tax audits and compliance reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
